New Yorkers Share Thousands of Thank You Notes to Celebrate National Thank You Day

merci® Chocolates encourage a day of gratitude with delicious chocolate and giant Thank You Wall in Columbus Circle ...

merci® Chocolates took over Columbus Circle yesterday in honor of National Thank You Day. The delicious, European chocolate brand that literally means “thank you” handed out more than 12,000 boxes of chocolate, while New York City locals and visitors alike posted nearly 2,000 handwritten thank you notes to the giant merci Thank You Wall.

Thousands of people visited Columbus Circle to express their gratitude for someone in their lives. Meant to encourage everyday thankfulness, merci’s celebration resulted in heartwarming shout-outs to moms, friends, families, pets, police officers, firefighters, and more, proving that everyone has someone to thank. New York City locals Ginger Zee and Randi Zuckerberg also got in on the action, posting their own thank you notes and taking photos at the on-site photo booth.

“Thank you to everyone who celebrated National Thank You Day with us yesterday.” said Kevin Carro, Marketing Manager at Storck USA. “We hope yesterday’s celebration will serve as a reminder to say ‘thanks’ and share your genuine gratitude and appreciation with those around you today and always.”

Visitors took advantage of the on-site photo and video booths and shared shout-outs on social media. Americans nationwide can continue celebrating National Thank You Day by sharing their heartfelt messages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #givemerci.
