The main responsibility of this role is to assist in managing the day-to-day relationship and operations with Strategic Retail Customers and managing Special Projects. This role will include a mix of responsibilities ranging from operations, compliance, marketing and sales, project management, finance and general administrative tasks serving to support strategic customers and special projects. This role will also include other projects, analyses, and support to assist with other incremental business opportunities. Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are a must. Two to three years of related experience is preferred.

Your main responsibilities
  • Operations:

  • • Lead customer operations and Strategic Retail Customer distribution center relationships

  • • Become SAP subject matter expert (SME) and manage all SAP-related actions

  • • Support Strategic Retail Customer requirements (e.g., contracts, specifications, certifications)

  • • Support 3rd -party warehouse operations

  • • Support all compliance-related activities

  • • Oversee the distribution of product and identify and recommend resolution of distribution and supply issues

  • • Compile and analyze product trends and data to identify and execute actions needed for effective inventory management

  • • Analyze and manage the distribution of seasonal, test and end-of-life core products to maximize sales and profitability and minimize excess inventory

  • • Identify areas for process improvement and make recommendations to Business Operations Manager for implementation

  • Project Management:

  • • Manage financial and pricing analyses and strategies

  • • Manage key timelines and action items within product commercialization process

  • • Manage key timelines and action items within operations projects

  • • Assist in reviewing consumer packaging from a compliance and marketing perspective

  • Marketing and Sales:

  • • Assist in new product commercialization process that requires cross-functional collaboration between internal international colleagues, external vendors, and Strategic Retail Customers

  • • Assist in analyzing, evaluating, and implementing incremental business opportunity projects with internal colleagues, international colleagues, and external vendors

  • • Maintain working knowledge of customer confection set and provide internal and external updates on an ongoing basis

  • • Initiate and perform business analyses, identify issues, and opportunities and make recommendations to Special Projects Team

  • • Initiate and perform business analyses, identify issues and opportunities, and make recommendations by turning data into insights and stories to drive growth.

  • • Perform store checks, confectionary section checks, etc. to assess and report on retail and category trends.

  • General Administrative/Other Duties:

  • • Create, update, manage and maintain internal files, including price lists/tools, business performance tools/files, guidebooks, style-guides

  • • Manage documentation during annual contract process, new product launches and other customer deliverables

  • • Co-lead internal monthly business performance and assessments, including meetings and presentations

  • • Co-manage shipment of samples, new products and other items to the customer

  • • Understand and fully support the needs of the customer Special Projects Team to proactively provide insights to support the continued development of the business

Your qualifications
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • • Project Management and Commercialization experience required

  • • Knowledge of SAP preferred

  • • Knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence preferred

  • • Exceptionally detail-oriented, able to turn data into insights

  • • Energetic, proactive, and action-oriented individual

  • • Customer-focused mindset

  • • Cross-cultural experience working with or in a Global/International business preferred

What we offer

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required; 2+ years of related experience preferred; grocery/retail/CPG experience preferred in marketing, sales, project management/commercialization

Working Conditions: Normal working conditions for an office environment located in Chicago, Illinois.

Travel: Approximately 0-10%, which could include international travel
