The Co-Pack & Materials Planner will manage and enhance the co-pack and local material process for North America Operations in US and Canada while maintaining an in depth knowledge of the demand and supply planning activities as well as the overall impact to the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product flow, demonstrated time management skills, and proven record of managing conflicting priorities.

Your main responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Schedule and ensure execution of all North American Co-packing and Material Planning:

Serves as single point of contact for day-to-day activities at the external co-packers and packaging Suppliers

Oversees the creation, scheduling, and prioritization off all open co-pack orders to maintain satisfactory levels of order fulfillment

Runs bimonthly Material Requirements for all co-packed items, taking into consideration Supplier lead times and warehouse storage capacity

Provides detailed tracking of all open co-pack and material purchase orders and updates demand and supply planning team on potential roadblocks

Collaborates with demand and supply planning team to identify co-packing efficiencies and adjusts purchase orders accordingly

Determines best course of action for material shortages and works with business on creative solutions to minimize service disruptions

Maintain optimal balance of packaging inventory between warehouse locations through inter-warehouse transfers

Ensures data integrity of all planning tools and databases

Effectively provides clear and concise feedback to 3PL partners and Suppliers

Analyzes 3PL and Supplier productivity levels and determines capacity requirements or risks accordingly

Manage North American Co-packing and material budgets:

Prepares annual budget and provides updates to latest cost estimates during quarterly reviews

Supports monthly reporting of KPI metrics by maintaining required data inputs

Identifies cost savings opportunities and effectively communicates results to business

Creates, tracks, and revaluates Supplier performance

Evaluates excess packaging and finished goods inventory and collaborates with demand and supply planning team on risk reduction strategies

Your qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong analytical skills; able to organize and drive meaningful decisions from large amounts of data

MS Office expertise with a focus in Excel

Knowledge of SAP preferred

Continuously drives improvement and identifies areas to streamline existing processes

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and adapt to multiple priorities

Team player who works well in a collaborative environment and shares information freely

Business acumen and the ability to quickly learn technical systems

Maintains composure when challenged

Self-starter, motivated and drives for results

Education and Experience:

Bachelor degree required with a focus in business or supply chain preferred

3-5 years of supply chain experience required, preferably with a CPG company

Travel:

10%, including International travel

Other Qualifications:
