Provide finance support across all functions. Maintain and provide continuous improvement of accounting/controls and financial processes focused on FP&A for the U.S. subsidiary. Lead and develop team to achieve highest standard of customer service and professional fulfillment and accomplishment. Above all, manage these financial responsibilities to meet the needs of the business today and in the future.
Managerial Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the management of the US Financial Planning, Analysis and Control functions. Management of talent could include Sr/Financial Analysts. Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of their areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, coaching, and directing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; yearly appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Finance Manager
Budgeting:
Direct cross-functional teams in creating revenue and expense targets.
Directs monthly Senior Management business performance meeting. Leads the preparation and establishes agenda of issues. Facilitates the discussion and drives accountability through issues resolution and follow-up actions required across all functions.
Leads development of the mid-term strategic financial plan/model and associated analysis including assessment of future business needs and competitive analysis
Manages overall health of profit margin by providing reporting and status checks of key drivers by brand, SKU, customer, channel, etc. Proactively provides recommendations to improve margin and/or clearly identifies performance risks.
Customize financial information so that it is tailored to different audience groups: senior management team, central controlling in Germany (English used), and cross-functional teams
Augments financial processes/controls as necessary to better meet needs of business
Learn and utilize financial reporting systems (SAP, Business Intelligence)
Forecasting:
Manages the development and analysis of annual operating plans and on-going forecasts. Owns performance review of actual results against these metrics and communication of financials to Senior Management team. Disseminates as appropriate.
Support quarterly and annual forecast of full U.S. P&L, including Revenue, Trade, and Fixed/SG&A, with emphasis on Supply Chain and Marketing expenses
Prepare monthly reporting package of Central American business unit and executive summary for senior management team
Present year-to-date financial updates versus Plan and Prior Year to senior team
Own and drive the cross-functional quarterly forecast process to estimate full year outlook of Supply Chain and Marketing budgets, which requires longer hours during those time periods (Mar – Apr and Aug – Sep)
Develop financial models and process improvements, incorporating KPIs
Continuously update and maintain financial risks and opportunities
Comfortable, or interest to learn, how to forecast $USD/€EUR fluctuations impact on the P&L
Perform ad-hoc analyses to support the U.S. operations
Cross-Functional Support:
Professionally support cross-functional teams, which includes Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Central Controlling in Germany, and requires the ability to understand the financial component of those departments to explain variances and KPIs
Provide profitability analyses and perspective on brand and customer-focused initiatives
Comfortable constructively challenging teams so that the financial perspective is elevated
Build value-added financial tools and models for self and others to facilitate in decision-making
Proactively identify margin and controller process improvement opportunities
Executes project management on critical business matters with efficiency, effectiveness and brilliant execution
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint)
Ability to work with large sets of data
Ability to summarize data and develop concise reports
Experience with financial modeling in Excel preferred
Strong presence with the ability to interact with Senior Leadership
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required (CPA or MBA a plus)
Minimum of seven years’ experience in general accounting, financial planning or financial analysis
CPG/FMCG experience a plus
Prior forecasting and reporting experience required
Prior people leadership experience, including multiple direct reports, strongly preferred
