The Logistics Manager will actively manage partnerships with all North America 3PL warehousing and transportation service providers to meet the needs of the organization. This will include negotiation of rates and driving efficiencies while focusing on customer fulfillment and satisfaction.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of 3PL processes and product flow as well as proven experience in improving service levels, order traceability, and cost management.  Keys to success will be a strong drive for collaboration, a continuous improvement mindset, and strong analytical and negotiation skills.

The Logistics Manager has one direct report, a Logistics Analyst, and is responsible for providing overall direction, objectives, prioritization, coaching and evaluation of performance.  The manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Your main responsibilities
  • Manage the overall relationships with all 3PL warehouses in the US and Canada

  • Develop and monitor KPI’s and facilitate quarterly business reviews with all suppliers

  • Address issues and drive service improvements with partners

  • Serve as primary operations contact for day-to-day activities with external warehouses

  • Negotiate warehouse and transportation rates on an annual basis

  • Evaluate and negotiate co-packing rates

  • Identify best in class service and identify avenue to improvements in existing service network

  • Routinely evaluate options for changes within the existing service network

  • Maintain an ongoing short term and long term capacity plan for all 3PL activities in partnership with Demand and Supply Planning and Finance

  • Identify 3PL shortfalls to internal requirements and develop action plan to address while communicating risks internally

  • Drive optimization of customer fulfillment and mitigate customer fines and deductions in partnership with Customer Operations, Sales Managers, and Finance

  • Partner with co-pack planning to develop key performance indicators for co-packing and packaging materials to evaluate 3PL performance

  • Develop and report against annual warehouse and transportation budgets

  • Collaborate with co-pack planning to develop annual co-packing budgets

  • Maintain system information to ensure accurate reporting

  • Evaluate ad hoc freight, warehousing, and other cost requests to drive informed decisions

  • Lead annual physical inventories at all warehouses

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Minimum of 5 years of supply chain/logistics experience preferably with a CPG company
